ISA CTEEP obtains Installation License for the Três Lagoas project

• With a length of approximately 37 km, transmission line connects the states of Mato Grosso do Sul and São Paulo
• Project will contribute to the connection of energy generation from renewable sources - solar and biomass - to consumer centers

Sao Paulo, January 26, 2021 - ISA CTEEP, the largest private energy transmitter in the country, obtained the Installation License (IL) for the Três Lagoas project, which connects the states of Mato Grosso do Sul and São Paulo. The project, acquired in the lot 06 of the Transmission Auction held in December 2019, consists of 37 km of transmission lines and approximately 76 towers, which interconnect the municipalities of Selvíria (MS), Ilha Solteira (SP), Itapura (SP) and Andradina (SP), in addition to the expansion of two substations - Ilha Solteira and Três Irmãos.

The investment planned by the National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel) is R$ 99 million and the Annual Permitted Revenue (RAP) is R$ 5 million in the 2020-2021 cycle. The deadline stipulated by the regulator for energizing the project is June 2023.

Aiming at connecting the energy generation from renewable sources - solar and biomass - to the consumer centers in the Northwest region of the state of São Paulo, the Três Lagoas project will contribute to the expansion of a cleaner energy matrix in the country. “This is yet another important project that will bring strength to the National Interconnected System (SIN). We continue to generate sustainable value for society, especially with a project that will contribute to the transmission of energy generated through renewable sources. In addition, this transmission line is connected with other assets that we have and, once energized, it will be operated with important synergies”, says Rui Chammas, CEO of ISA CTEEP.

Annually, the company is responsible for connecting 22 GW of renewable sources to consumer centers, the equivalent of the sum generated by the Itaipu and Belo Monte plants.

Social and environmental commitment
During the works, the company will use techniques to reduce the impact on the environment, such as the launching of cables by means of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) and the increase in the height of the transmission towers, which avoids interventions in the forest and preserves the native vegetation, in addition to the development of Environmental Education and Social Communication Programs with surrounding communities throughout the construction period.
