CTEEP was the first electricity company in São Paulo to take part in Level 1 of the São Paulo Stock Exchange (BOVESPA) Corporate Governance program

The CTEEP model of corporate governance is based on transparency and security in releasing information, on respect for shareholders and investors, and on an ethical commitment to the market.

Since it was set up, the company has invested in perfecting its management processes and control systems. CTEEP was the first electricity company in São Paulo to take part in Level 1 of the São Paulo Stock Exchange (BOVESPA) Corporate Governance program, in September 2002. With this move, the company’s shares, which were already included in the IBOVESPA index, were added to the Corporate Governance Share Index (IGC), a portfolio of shares in companies with high standards of investor relations.

In order to integrate the corporate governance processes with the current structure and thereby ensure effective communication, the company carried out significant advances in the mechanisms for dialog and interaction between shareholders and management.

With the adoption of this posture, the company won the 2008 Quality Award, granted by the Stock Market Analysts and Investment Professionals Association (APIMEC) to the company which presented the best APIMEC meeting for the year.

CTEEP has a Policy for Publication of Notices to Shareholders, approved by the Board in 2002, which establishes rules for secrecy and publication of relevant information. In 2009, the process will begin for the preparation of a Code of Ethics, which will guide the company’s relationship with its other stakeholders. CTEEP has always adopted a position of integrity, reinforced by the adoption of practices to prevent corruption and bribery.
