CTEEP operates in 12 Brazilian states and is responsible for the transmission of 30% of the electricity produced in the country.

Responsible for the transmission of 30% of the electricity produced in Brazil, CTEEP – Companhia de Transmissão de Energia Elétrica Paulista is the country’s largest private power transmission concessionaire. GRI 2.1, 2.2, 2.5 e 2.6

With installed capacity of 43,069 MVA, a CTEEP operates in 12 Brazilian states: Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina, Paraná, São Paulo, Minas Gerais, Rondônia, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Goiás, Tocantins, Maranhão and Piauí. The company’s transmission lines carry 60% of the electricity consumed in the southeast of the country, and almost 100% of that consumed in the state of São Paulo, its chief clients being other public power concessionaires. The company’s head office is in the city of São Paulo, and it has five regional offices in the cities of Cabreúva, Taubaté, Bauru, Jupiá and São Paulo, all in the state of São Paulo. Together with the Transmission Operations Centre in Jundiaí and the Backup Operations Centre in Cabreúva, these facilities employ 1,300 people. CTEEP’s infrastructure consists of a network of 12,140 km of transmission lines, 18,495 km of circuits, 1,955 km of optical fiber cables and 102 substations of up to 550 kV. In 2008, the company’s Permitted Annual Revenue (PAR) was R$ 1.80 billion, net operating revenue was R$ 1.56 billion, and net profit was R$ 827.1 million. Total assets were R$ 5.67 billion and net equity, R$ 4.10 billion. GRI 2.3, 2.4 e 2.8

Since June 2006, CTEEP has been controlled by ISA, one of the largest electricity transmission groups in Latin America, which holds 89.40% of voting shares, equivalent to 37.5% of the company’s total capital. CTEEP was the first electricity company in São Paulo to take part in Level 1 of the São Paulo Stock Exchange (BOVESPA) Corporate Governance program. At the close of 2008, its market value was R$ 6.46 billion, up 16.1% in relation to 2007 (R$ 5.57 billion). GRI 2.6 e 2.8

In 2008, the company played a major role in two auctions under the auspices of the Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (ANEEL), acquiring important lots and establishing subsidiaries to offer public electricity transmission services. CTEEP’s stake in these companies stands at 100% of Pinheiros (Interligação Elétrica Pinheiros); 100% of IESul (Interligação Elétrica Sul) and 51% of IEMadeira (Interligação Elétrica do Madeira). In addition to extending operations to a further six states, the new concessions will allow the company’s PAR to increase by R$ 210.9 million for the coming years. CTEEP also holds 60% of IEMG (Interligação Elétrica de Minas Gerais) and 25% of IENNE (Interligação Elétrica Norte e Nordeste), auctioned by ANEEL in 2006 and 2007, respectively. GRI 2.9

Vision
In 2016, CTEEP will be the principal non-state owned company in the energy transmission sector in Brazil with revenues of R$ 3.5 billion, of which 25% originating from operations conducted outside the state of São Paulo.
